National Award–winning singer Shilpa Rao delivered a landmark performance at Falcon Festival 2025 in Umrangso, drawing one of the biggest live crowds of her celebrated career. Held amid the stunning Dima Hasao hills, the festival offered a spectacular setting for what became one of the most emotionally charged concerts of the year. Visiting Umrangso for the first time, Shilpa was welcomed with extraordinary enthusiasm. “This was our first trip to Umrangso, and while I’ve performed in Assam many times, this place was truly special. It’s pure, it’s clean, and the scenic beauty of the Dima Hasao hills is breathtaking. Singing here was absolutely sublime a mix of locals and people travelling from outside, some camping, all singing together. When they sang Barbaad, Besharam Rang and Bulleya with me, it felt like the entire hills were reverberating with my songs. I’m leaving a part of my heart here, and I truly hope we come back again.”
